To be able to say I have no traveled around the country of Greece via land and cruise ship is an experience not many can relate to. This trip was eye opening in many ways and I felt very lucky to have such a great group of people to explore with. Although all of the islands were breathtaking and unique in their own ways, I enjoyed our first stop on the cruise the most, Mykonos. When we got off the tender boat to get off on land, I was immediately blown away. We got off around dinner time so we looked for a place to eat and settled on a restaurant that was a little hidden and off the beaten path to avoid an expensive meal because we quickly learned Mykonos was a pricey place. We settled on a little restaurant on a side street and I ordered an incredible pesto pasta dish. I could also tell there was more money on this island with all the luxurious boutiques as we explored. In Mykonos I had the best Gelato I had tasted so far, it was Raspberry flavored in a cone and it just melted in my mouth.

The colors in Mykonos all popped because of the white backdrop of the buildings. There was a small square I vividly remember with a small church on one side and stores on the other and a variety of brightly colored flags strung between the two buildings. This wasn't the most scenic thing I had seen so far but the constrast of the colors was very aesthetically pleasing. I hope that one day I can return to Mykonos and stay there for an extended period of time to truly be able to experience the magic of Mykonos!
