My second week in Greece was amazing. For me, I was most interested in visiting the different Greek islands on the cruise and experiencing the different cultural experiences on each one. For example, Mykonos had a very chic yet relaxed feel to the island. I loved getting lost in its narrow, winding streets. On the other hand, the island of Patmos was rich in history. I enjoyed walking through the medieval streets and touring the acropolis of Lindos and the temple of Athena. In particular, I noticed that the culture of Patmos embraces its history, since there are people who live in the medieval towers even to this day. Even though the climb to the top of the acropolis was (unbelievably) hot, the view at the top was worth the wait. Greece has been a beneficial experience for me because I have been able to apply the knowledge I attained in Ancient Greek World to real, tangible places, and I have been able to walk in the steps of a country that is rich in its history.
